Something out of nothing |
As
a mother of two creative kids, I always observe them meticulously and
try to be part of their musical gig be it games, crafts, drawing or
creating lyrics. Yesterday my elder kiddo started singing his own lyrics
to which my younger one added hip hop. The meaningless words turned into
a musical composition.Haha......it was impressive. The next turn was of
mommy......I bit my finger and then raised my hand to recite one of my
poems "Affection"' published in 1995.....it goes like this:
Stitched in nine
a meadow burning in glory
pioneer in pine
stretching arm for a crony
one who receives must blanket
or you escape in others heart
precious to be preserved in a casket
ere on an urn in the music of art
the dispensation must be at intervals
'cause though you are vast as the sea
the precinct in the inner well
that which unlocked through an influential key
your presence burgeons life,
and you are housed in man's hive.
My two little ones gazed me with blank expressions and then looked at each other in utter disgust. Oh! I was team's out. I wrapped my soulmates into my arms and summarized the meaning of the poem which they associated with a rhyme of love. I just wanted to convey the message that what is the significance of affection in our life and how should we bind it. They decided to continue with that but with a new version......for them it was something out of nothing and for me, it was more than that.
Awesome....
